Coal mill is an important auxiliary equipment for coal-powder furnace, and it has three methods to crush the coal lump and grind them into powder, like crushing, impacting and grinding.


In coal-fired power plants coal mills are used to pulverize and dry to coal before it is blown into the power plant furnace. The coal is feed into the coal mill through a central inlet pipe where gravity is used to lead the coal to the bottom of the mill, where the grinding table and some heavy rollers pulverizes the coal to particles.


Coal mill is major equipment of cement plant and used for drying and grinding coal. The equipment mainly consists of feed device, main bearings, rotating parts, drive device, selling device, high-voltage start-up device and lubrication system.


As the “black blood of industry”, coal is usually ground into micro size powder, which can ensure a high combustion efficiency. However, different degrades of coal are used in different application with different requirements.


Coal mill is the equipment that is used to crush the coal and grind it into the coal powder. It is the important auxiliary equipment of pulverized coal furnace.  The grinding process of the coal is the process that the coal is crushed and its surface area is in increase. To add the new surface area must overcome the binding force between solid molecules, which requires the consumption of energy. The coal is made of pulverized coal by the coal mill mainly through the three ways of crushing, shredding and grinding. Among the three ways, the energy consumption of the crushing process is the smallest while that of the grinding process is the most. The milling process of the various coal mills contains two or three ways of the above-mentioned. According to the rotational speed of the working parts of the coal mill, it can be divided into the low speed coal mill, medium speed coal mill and high-speed coal mill.
